After School Tutoring & Mentoring Program

The After School Tutoring & Mentoring program exists as one of the ministries of First United

Methodist Church. We focus upon providing a Christian environment where children can

receive additional academic help they need. Our program is designed for Kindergarten -- 4th

grade students.

Hours: We pick them up after school from the Bixby Public Schools and the program ends at

6:00 PM.

Cost: The cost for this program is $80 per month for 2 days per week or $150 per month for

5 days per week.

Days of operation: This program begins on the first day of the school year and ends on the

last day of the school year. We are in session every day that Bixby Public Schools is in

session.

We begin our day by picking up kids from school. When we arrive at the church we have a

devotion and a snack. Then, we head to the gym or to the playground for about 20 minutes of

exercise and play time. Afterwards, we head to our classrooms to have some individual and

small group tutoring with teachers and volunteers. After the tutoring time, we utilize the

computer lab to reinforce the concepts that we are working on.
