March 25, 8:30 & 11:00 a.m.
You will be invited to wave palm branches as we sing praise to our Savior and King.
The Palm Branch was the symbol of Israeli independence. They were giving notice to the Roman Government-their time of being in control of Israel was nearly over.
6:30 p.m. We will begin in the Narthex-prior to the beginning of our service of remembrance, we will experience foods similar to the ones Jesus ate at the Last Supper.
7:00 p.m. We will enter the sanctuary with music, reminding us of the celebration Jesus experienced at the Last Supper. You will be included in a "washing of the hands" and "receiving of the bread and cup".
March 30, 7:00 p.m.
You will hear the story of Judas' betrayal in the Garden, the arrest, trial, and conviction of Jesus, and finally his crucifixion and burial. The service will conclude with a stripping of the colors and symbols of Christ from the Sanctuary, and the draping of our sacred places with black cloth.
